Video editing that sounds as good as it looks.
I came to video from music — cello, then producing, then running sound for a set on the SunFest main stage — and that ear is still how I cut. Pace, music and a clean mix do as much work as the pictures.
What I edit
Interviews and commercials, documentaries, event recaps, music videos and short-form content for social. The longest is a 26-minute documentary for Mission Resolve, cut from a full salvage operation in Patagonia and delivered in 4K. I did the sound design and mix on it and on their MV Dali salvage video in Baltimore; the two have 222K views between them.
How I work
Send the footage on a drive or a shared link, with a few lines on what the video is for. I pull selects, build a rough cut against the brief, and send it to you before anything is polished. Then color, graphics and the mix, with your notes in before it’s final. I edit in DaVinci Resolve, so the edit, the grade and the sound live in one project.
More than one video from a shoot
Most clients need more than one video out of a shoot. For Bourbon Beef, a Kentucky ranch, one two-day shoot with a drone and three cameras became 20 vertical reels, cut from nine minutes of finished picture — a month of social content. I plan the edit for that from the start: the long piece, the cutdowns and the verticals.
